Literature Text

Live by the star and die by the blade
This is the fate which you had forbade
Finding solace and comfort
In the sorrow of others
Perhaps you'll feel more foolish tomorrow

Whitest of envelopes, carefully sealed
Secretive contents, to soon be revealed
Words of a snake on the tongue of a man
Enduring the message through tears, if you can
Taking each passage as if death was real

Stronger than quicksilver, methane, or fire
Were emotions you used to condemn him a liar
A speaker of tongues and a weaver of tales
Crashing his ships, and burning their sails
Numb from the trip, but you finally arrived

Soulful architecture, withered and grayed
Depicting betrayal, it was this you displayed
Marble walls carved with bone
Told the story of a life lived alone

Though your love was asymmetrical
You spoke in a dialect never yet heard
Your deepest of questions, they all were rhetorical
Sing now your tragedy, and how you were spurned
The greatest of fiction has a glimmer of truth
The greatest of age has a sparkle of youth
The greatest of heros remembered through time
The greatest of stories told only in rhyme
